Arlington Kids Stuff Sale
8 am - noon - St Andrew's Episcopal Church, 4000 Lorcom Lane
Kids Stuff Sale features used, seasonally appropriate kids clothes, toys and gear, plus maternity clothes, books, videos, kids furniture and more. The Kids Stuff Sale is a community minded group, sharing both profits and unsold goods with Arlington Food Assistance, AHC Inc., Art for Humanity, and others. Four Mile Run Watershed Cleanup

Join ACE and the Arlington Park Rangers to do a stream cleanup on Four Mile Run at one of the following locations:
- Arlington Mill Community Center: Meet at the parking lot at 4975 Columbia Pike. Register by email or call 703-228-6406.
- Shirlington Park: Meet at the parking lot at the end of S. Nelson St. off of Four Mile Run Dr. Register by email or call 703-228-6406 or with the Park Rangers at 703-525-0168.

Other ACCF committees, if they so choose, can present any input they might have on the Acting County Manager’s proposed budget as it relates to each committee’s respective area. Any committee wishing to do so should please do the following: (1). Notify Chair Wayne Kubicki in advance that the committee chairman (or his/her designate) will be attending. (2). Any position(s) taken by a committee must be the result of a meeting of that committee, with a vote taken on each recommendation. (3). Any recommendations must be in writing (7 copies, please), and should contain the committee’s numerical vote result on each recommendation. (4). At each committee’s discretion, their recommendations can deal with any provision in the Acting County Manager’s base budget proposal AND/OR the “Tier Two” list of alternative/additional budget changes that might be contained in the proposed budget. Subject to seeing the actual document, R&E intends to review the Tier Two list, in addition to the base budget proposal.

Raingardens for Homeowners
9:30 am – 12:30 pm - Green Spring Gardens Park, 4603 Green Spring Road, Alexandria, VA 22312-1428
Workshop fee is $20. Please call ahead to register at 703-642-5173. Rain gardens, also known as bioretention areas, are attractive landscape features that allow rain water and snow melt to infiltrate into the ground. A layer of mulch and plants intercept water running off street, driveways, and rooftops, slowing its flow and removing pollutants before the water reaches local streams and the Potomac River, a drinking water supply for the region. Includes an optional rain garden tour at the park. Co-sponsored by Fairfax County Park Authority - Green Spring Gardens Park.

The expo will feature green suppliers, products from local and national businesses, exhibits and seminars from government agencies and nonprofits, and a free Going Green Guide for Apartment Renters! The Expo will provide an important venue to showcase new technology and products available that can help soften our carbon footprints in Arlington. On behalf of the Civic Federation Executive Committee, President Mike Kerley has announced that Aneesh Chopra, Chief Technology Officer and Associate Director for Technology, Executive Office of the President, will speak at the Civic Federation Annual Banquet on Friday, April 16. Committee of 100: Community Organizing Meets Civic Engagement: When Advocacy and Action Meet in Dialogue

The Committee of 100, (which is NOT limited to 100) is one of Arlington's principal forums for citizen education in local and regional public affairs. In accordance with the mission of the Committee of 100, the program will explore how community organizing provides a gateway for members of the Arlington community to participate in local civic and community activities that make Arlington a strong and vibrant community.
