Nomination Deadline: March 29, 2004
Awards Ceremony: May 8, 2004

and the Arlington Sun Gazette
On May 8, 2004, Arlingtonians will celebrate the eighth annual Neighborhood Day. On that day, the
Arlington Sun Gazette, E*Trade Bank and Ballston Common Mall will honor "Arlington Heroes": People
who made — and continue to make — exceptional contributions to our local community.
You can be a part of this event by nominating those you feel are worthy of this honor. Here is how:
Who Can Be Nominated?
You may nominate any individual, group (including couples and families) or agency/business for their
extraordinary contribution to the community or to individuals, families or community programs in
Arlington that have taken place over the past two years. You can also nominate individuals for the
"lifetime achievement" award to salute commitment to Arlington that has stood the test of time.
Nominees do not need to live in Arlington, but the impact of their work must focus on Arlington
residents. Self-nominations will not be accepted, and to be eligible, community service must not be
connected to political parties or activities, or work for which the nominee is financially compensated.
Winners from previous years are not eligible for nomination, but finalists from previous years are.
How Can I Nominate?
Nomination forms are available on the County's Web page in .pdf format. Nomination forms will be printed in the Arlington Sun Gazette during March. Forms also are available by
calling Ballston Common Mall at (703) 243-6346. You may also nominate by creating the form on your
computer and answering the questions. Forms may be duplicated.
All entry forms must be postmarked no later than March 29, 2004. Mail nomination forms to
